This beautiful drive lasts approximately one hour and 20 minutes. Along the way, you will see great snow-capped peaks of the andes, lush yellow wheat fields and some andean picturesque villages. Finally, you´ll arrive to the fascinating exhibition of circular terraces in Moray. This amazing site has 4 terraces similar to an amphitheater made by the Incas. It was thought that these terraces which are carved in the depths of the earth in form of a bowl were used to determine the optimum conditions for cultivation.
Once you have finished exploring Moray we will arrive about three kilometers away to the Salt mines of Maras. This town is known as an ancient salt producing center and is believed to date back to pre-Inca times. There are more than 3,000 salt pools carved on the mountain side which are filled daily with a jet of water. Finally we will return to Cusco city arriving around 2.30 p.m.
